CERTIFIED CATCH WRESTLER1992-1999 Coach Jag was a Free-Style Wrestler earning several region and district 7 titles with consecutive All-NBIL selections from 1992-1999.
1999-2003 he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he assisted and trained in Daitō-ryū Aiki-Jūjutsu, Marine Corps Line and MCMAP.
Coach Jag studied Pro-Boxing fundamentals under Coach Don Turner (Don Turner Boxing) while employed as his personal Executive Chef in Havelock, North Carolina.
2007 Coach Jag began his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Journey under Professor Jerry Moreno in New Bern, NC. later earning his blue belt in the summer of 2008 under Professor Rodrigo Grenno after relocating to Tampa, Florida.
2009-2014 As a BJJ blue belt, Jag competed regularly while cross training in traditional and ITF Taekwon-Do. He continued his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training in Ocala, Fl. under the guidance of Professor Rodrigo Grenno.
He earned his Black belt in full-contact ITF Taekwon-Do under Master Jose Luiz Zapata in March of 2012.
After 7 years as a blue belt he earned his Fight Sports Jiu-Jitsu Purple belt in 2014, Brown belt in 2016 and later Black belt in January of 2019 under Master Todd Cutler, Black Belt 3rd degree, Fight Sports Daytona.
Coach Jag has been a dedicated practitioner of mixed martial arts for over 30 years. He is a representative CACC instructor under Senior head Coach John Potenza of Old School Grappling Association (Formally Snake-Pit USA) , 2nd Kyu in Kyokushin Kaikan under Sensei Ken Hicks and loyal student of FCS KALI under Guro Ben Zaharias.
He founded NOGI SHOOT BOX MMA in 2012 where he continues to teach and train the next generation of disciplined mixed martial artists.
